Archaeopedia
Welcome to Archaeopedia.com - the online resource for Pacific Archaeologists. This website is designed for those interested in New Zealand and Pacific archaeology.

The site uses Wikipedia software but it is independent of that site – having its own web address archaeopedia.com Like Wikipedia the site invites contributions from users.
The site features current and historical information about New Zealand archaeology. Information is included on excavated Maori and European sites particularly in the Auckland area but it has the scope to include sites from all of New Zealand and the Pacific. The site is not narrowly targeted at specialists – it generaly uses unspecialised language in describing sites and offers commentary on different sorts of sites and features in sites.
Some other features are profiles of archaeologists, news, artefact types, book reviews, links to other heritage media, heritage institutions and museums with important archaeological collections.
