LABORATORY MANAGER (ARCHAEOLOGY)

 

DEPARTMENT OF ANTHROPOLOGY

 

Applications are invited for the position of Laboratory Manager (Archaeology) in the Department of Anthropology.  The successful applicant will be responsible for managing and maintaining the department’s archaeological laboratories and laboratory teaching and research collections, and will work alongside the Laboratory Manager (Information Technology and Research) to support staff and students in laboratory and fieldwork-based research and teaching.

 

Candidates should have a postgraduate qualification in archaeology or a related field, preferably at or above masters level, and familiarity with laboratory protocols in archaeology.  Specialist skills in an area of archaeological research such as archaeozoology, lithic identification or sediment analysis is desirable.  Essential skills and attributes include: attention to detail; ability to work independently and within defined time constraints; confident use of word-processing, spreadsheet and database software; drivers license.
